Our story
A family tradition of healing, since 1962
Gobinda Kalupada Seka is one of the oldest seka centres in Bhubaneswar, run by the Samanta family for more than sixty years.
Where it began
The story of Kalupada seka
Folk tradition tells of a group of hunters who shared out the meat of a deer. One of them wrapped his share in leaves picked from the forest, and by the time he reached home, the pieces had joined into a single lump.
From this he discovered a natural way of setting bones. He tried it first on animals, and then, the story goes, he was guided in a dream to treat people with fractures and body pain using herbs and natural remedies. The discoverer of the method is remembered as Shri Hrushikesh Das, and because it began at Kalupada Ghat in Khordha, it became known as Kalupada seka.
