Back & neck
Cervical spondylosis and neck pain
Wear in the neck bones and discs, causing a stiff, painful neck that may spread to the shoulders and arms.
Common signs
- A stiff, painful neck
- Pain spreading to the shoulder or arm
- Tingling or numbness in the arms or hands
- Headaches that start in the neck
What it is
As we get older, usually after 40, the discs between the neck bones wear and stiffen. Long hours at a desk or looking down at a phone can make it worse. In Ayurveda it is known as griva sandhigata vata.
How we help
Gentle seka with herbal oil relaxes the neck and shoulder muscles and eases stiffness, with simple advice on posture and pillows.
See a doctor first if
You have weakness in your hands, trouble walking or keeping your balance, or loss of bladder or bowel control.
